Catch 22

Title: "Catch 22"
Fandom: Star Wars
Characters: Luke/Leia
Prompt: swficchallenge's #2010-17: Self challenge, in which we were required to write something we don't normally write. (Originally posted here)
Word Count: 349
Rating: PG-13
Summary: TWINCEST!
Author's Notes: For this challenge, I figured I should write a pairing that squicks everyone, because I don't normally do that. Then I remembered that I do that ALL THE TIME when I write Palpakin ;D So! Here's another one! I've never written them before, AND it's OT instead of my usual PT so that's like two challenges rolled into one!

Luke Skywalker laid in bed, wide awake in spite of the late hour. He had a lot on his mind these days... trying to come up with a plan to rescue his carbonited buddy Han from Jabba… processing the recent revelation that the Empire’s evil overlord was his father… but he suspected those weren’t the real reasons for his reluctance to nod off.

It was the recurring Leia dreams. They centered on losing her, not physically so much as emotionally. And dream-Leia wasn’t happy about it either; it was as if some outside force pulled them apart, yet they were still together… still in each other’s lives, just with their happy feelings for one another replaced by anguish and confusion. They made absolutely no sense.

Luke did not pretend to understand the intricacies of the Force. Was it trying to warn him? Was there some action he was supposed to take to prevent an obstacle from coming between them? Why didn’t Ben appear to him and tell him what it all meant? He didn’t want to burden Leia with it. And she wasn’t a Jedi: she would just assume his subconscious worries were manifesting themselves in these dreams. Luke knew it was more than that. He just couldn’t explain the images and feelings to her. There were no words.

Was he underestimating her? Possibly… they did have the connection, after all. They could sense when the other was in danger. Leia had even known Luke's precise location after Vader had whacked off his hand. He’d never felt so spiritually attuned to anyone in his life, and he knew she felt the same way. They were soulmates. So how...

A gentle hand squeezed his shoulder; Leia was awake. Soft breasts pressed into his back and a leg wrapped itself around his. Whether she sensed his inner turmoil or not, Luke could not say, but she instinctively comforted him. He rolled over to face her and their bodies intertwined perfectly. His lips found hers and he felt the Force singing: the sweet melody drowned out the ugly din of his fear.
