Summary: Anakin comes back from an encounter with Palpatine and Obi-Wan gets JEALOUS.
Author's Notes: Hiatus drabble #5. And it's way too long to be considered a drabble, whoops! Sorry it's not NC-17. I seem to have a hard time achieving that rating :|
Anakin Skywalker probably should have showered before he left the Chancellor’s apartments, but the idea didn’t even occur to him – so heady was he after all the man had done to his body. It was a small miracle he’d managed to return to the Jedi Temple at all, given the lure of Palpatine’s luxurious bed. Only the knowledge that Obi-Wan would surely kill him if he wasn’t in his own bed by sunrise brought him home.
And Anakin probably should have sensed Obi-Wan’s presence in his dark bedroom, but he was distracted by his erotic memories… memories he wanted to relive on his way to sleep. He quickly shed his tunics, eager to wrap his body in remembrance instead. Suddenly the lights flicked on. Obi-Wan.
Anakin continued to undress himself, trying to look nonchalant (though his heart was racing). “What are you doing in here, Master?” he muttered crankily.
“Where have you been, Padawan?” Obi-Wan demanded. “Do you have any idea what time it is?”
Anakin sat on the bed, clad only in his underwear, and looked at his bedside chrono. “It’s nearly 0200,” he informed the older man coolly.
“Don’t get smart with me, Anakin,” Obi-Wan warned exasperatedly. “Where were you?”
“Out,” Anakin replied, yawning. He didn’t mean to be impertinent. He just really didn’t feel like getting into this now. Also, he sensed that Obi-Wan would be hurt if he knew.
“That answer is not satisfactory, Padawan.”
“I was with the Chancellor, all right?” Anakin spat out, his head bowed but his eyes seeking a reaction.
Something unreadable flickered over his Master’s face upon mention of Palpatine. “And what, pray tell, were you doing with the Chancellor at this time of night?”
“None of your business,” replied Anakin with a snort.
Obi-Wan’s usual Jedi stoicism gave way to a rare display of anger. “I’m your Master – everything you do is my business!”
“I’m not a little boy anymore, Master,” Anakin grumbled, unperturbed. “I’m a man. I can make my own decisions.”
“You are eighteen, which is barely a man by definition, and it’s my job to guide you to make the right decisions.” Obi-Wan sat beside him, some of his anger dissipating. “And I fail to see how…” A pause. “What’s that smell? You smell like…”
Oh Force, he knows. Anakin turned away.
“Like cologne… musk and sweat. Like…”
Like sex. Anakin mentally dared Obi-Wan to finish the thought. Force, his Master was such a prude. So annoying.
Obi-Wan cleared his throat. “What exactly were you two doing?” he repeated quietly.
Anakin was unbearably irritated now. He turned to glare at the irritant. “Well, if you must know, Master, YES, we were fucking! Happy now?” How Obi-Wan flinched at that! “You wanna know all the details? ‘Cause first, he sucked me off. Oh – but before that—“
“Enough!” Obi-Wan bolted off the bed and began pacing the floor, running his hand through his hair and generally looking quite discombobulated. “Anakin, I thought… I thought you were a virgin.”
The smug Padawan snickered. “I was.”
Obi-Wan gasped audibly at that, and the color drained from his face. For a moment, he looked vulnerable. The moment passed, and the calm expression of a nearly-emotionless Jedi returned.
Suddenly, Anakin felt ashamed. He remembered his earlier sense that the truth would hurt his Master – that was something he truly didn’t want to do. His tone softened. “I didn’t do anything wrong, did I? I mean, aside from sneaking out of the Temple, of course.” -But that was a rite of passage for every Padawan, and not something the Masters were overly concerned about. A minor infraction.
Obi-Wan frowned. “I worry that you’re becoming too attached to Palpatine. And remember, he is not a Jedi. He doesn’t understand our ways.”
How typical of Obi-Wan to invoke the Code regarding attachment to support his argument. Force forbid he should admit that he simply wanted Anakin all to himself! Anakin smiled coyly. “Don’t worry, Master, I won’t attach myself to anyone but you. No need to get jealous.” And no need to tell Obi-Wan that he was already looking forward to his next rendezvous with Palpatine.
“I’m not jealous, Padawan!”
But Obi-Wan’s fierce blush was enough to convince Anakin otherwise. “I think you regret not doing more than kissing me that one day,” he mused, unable to resist teasing his Master when he was already so obviously flustered.
“I’m n-not – you shouldn’t –“ An exasperated sigh. “Anakin, we agreed to never discuss that again.”
“Which is why I had to go elsewhere to get laid.”
“I’m sorry, Master, but it’s true,” Anakin said, pushing out his lower lip slightly in a sexy pout (a maneuver that had been known to charm Obi-Wan in the past). “The Chancellor’s a nice man but he’s… you know. Old. Not hot like you.”
Obi-Wan groaned and rolled his eyes. “Right. Good night, Anakin, we’ll discuss this further tomorrow. Don’t think I’m letting you sleep in, either.”
Anakin slid beneath the covers and waggled his eyebrows at Obi-Wan. “Aren’t you going to kiss me good night, Master?”
“Good night, Padawan.” Obi-Wan shot him a stern look as he left the room, but Anakin detected a smile struggling to break through his all-business demeanor.
The Padawan grinned to himself as he settled into his sheets. He imagined his Master slinking off to bed all hot’n’bothered, worked up as only Anakin could get him.
Mmmm, was that ever an arousing thought.
Anakin decided he may as well forego sleep that night. He crept silently down the hall to Obi-Wan’s bedroom, emboldened by his earlier activities and the other man’s reactions to them.
His Master had left the door open.
